Hi, my name is Jolene.  I am nine years old and I am a member of 4-H.

My mom is helping me keep track of my 4-H projects with this web site.

This is Page two of my Online Journal.

Dad helped me transplant my flowers into another container so that we can move them outside.

Here is a picture of the Sunflower that I am taking care of in mommy's garden.  I plan to take it to the Westmoreland County Fair.

I made macaroni and cheese today by myself.  It was from a box, so it was easy.   Here are some pictures of me doing it.

Had a meeting today.

We got to watch one of our members do a demonstration with his jersey calf.  Then we went inside to start the meeting.

We talked about getting items ready for the fair in August.  Mom picked up a copy of the Fair Book which has the fair schedule and entry forms.

After the meeting, I watered the garden for my mom while she took some pictures.   I also watered my plants and some other potted plants on our patio.

Planning on taking this to fair.

Alwine Community 4-H Club signed up to participate in the Shop N Save Days in Greensburg.

Our club did the car wash - while another club took care of selling the hot dogs and pop.  Mom and I volunteered to help and had a lot of fun.  A photographer from the Tribune Review came by on his lunch break and got us to wash his car.  While we were doing it - he took some pictures.  He took down all of our names, so we have to look and see if any of our group makes it into the newspaper.

After we got back home, we looked through the fair paper and made a list of all the items I am interested in doing for the fair.

Update:  Jessica Misko and her sister Jenny (from our club) got their pictures in the paper.

Today I made a Strawberry Pie to take to my Grandparent's house.  They were having a picnic/cookout.  And before we left we watched fireworks

It was a bit of practice for the pies I am going to enter in the fair, so I made it all by myself.  Mom only helped stir the strawberry filling when my arm got tired.

Had a Food Meeting today.  We made Banana Bread and Blueberry Boucle? (pronounced like Buckle).

After the meeting, mom talked with Mrs. Schramm about some questions she had about how to make out the fair entry.
